Know when to restock before you run out — automatically.

Nexlymate monitors your stock levels against the reorder points you set for each item. When a product's stock drops to or below its reorder point, you receive an automatic alert so you can place a replenishment order before the shelf is empty and a customer is turned away.

The cost of running out of stock

A customer who visits your store to buy something and finds it out of stock does not always wait for the restock notification. Often, they buy from a competitor. The lost sale is bad enough — the lost customer relationship is worse. Reorder points are the simplest way to prevent out-of-stock situations before they happen.

How reorder points work

For each item in your catalog, you set a reorder point — the minimum quantity that should be in stock before you need to trigger a new purchase order. When the stock level of that item drops to or below the reorder point, Nexlymate sends an alert to the relevant person or team.

You also set a reorder quantity — the standard amount you order from your supplier when restocking. This makes it faster to raise a purchase order: the reorder alert and the suggested quantity are both there, and creating the PO is a single action.

  • Set a reorder point and reorder quantity for any item or variant in your catalog
  • Reorder alerts appear in your Nexlymate dashboard when stock crosses the threshold
  • Email notifications can be sent to the purchasing manager when an item needs restocking
  • View all items currently below their reorder point in one report — your restocking list
  • Reorder point tracking works per warehouse location — an item low at Location A does not trigger an alert if Location B has sufficient stock

Setting the right reorder point

The reorder point for an item should account for how long it takes your supplier to deliver after you place an order, and how many units you typically sell per day during that lead time. If your supplier takes 5 days to deliver and you sell 20 units per day on average, your reorder point should be at least 100 units to ensure you do not run out during the supplier lead time.

Nexlymate's sales reports give you the daily sales velocity for each product, making it straightforward to calculate the right reorder point rather than guessing.

Integration with purchase orders

When a reorder alert triggers, you can create a new purchase order for that item directly from the alert. Your vendor price list populates the cost, your reorder quantity is pre-filled, and the PO can be sent to your supplier immediately. The entire restocking workflow takes minutes rather than requiring a separate inventory audit.
